In Aligarh most of the agitated farmers are not convinced to accept the new compensation rate which was announced by Uttar Pradesh government Last night. The farmers refused to accept the new enhanced rates decided for their land acquisition. Earlier, the farmers leader Rambabu Katheria who was released on bail today reached Jigarpur and briefed about his discussions with cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh last late night .But most of the farmers were not convinced with new initiative of state governmentLater farmer’s leader Rambabu Katheria also said that ‘he is with the opinion of farmers’. However panchayat has formed a twenty five members committee involving famers from affected villages to decide the future course of actionMeanwhile, the affected farmers of Agra who are also being affected by the Yamuna expressway project also become violent today.According to reports agitated farmers from Garairami and chaugan villages become violent and pelted stones on police personnel. The State police spokesperson Rajeev Meharotra told AIR Allahabad correspondent that to disperse the agitated mob police resorted to lathi charge against farmers. Some police personnel and several farmers have injured in today’s incident. The senior police and administrative official are on the spot but the situation is tensed as the the report last came in.The congress party also organised demonstrations almost at all district headquarters throughout the state against police atrocities against farmers.
