MoS Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta: Govt is implementing DAPST as a strategy for development of Scheduled Tribes & areas having tribal concentration

Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Renuka Singh Saruta has said that the Government is implementing the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes (DAPST) as a strategy for the development of Scheduled Tribes and areas having tribal concentration. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha today, Ms. Saruta said, besides the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, 41 Ministries and Departments are allocating a certain percentage of their total scheme budget every year for tribal development under DAPST. She said the projects are related to education, health, agriculture, irrigation, roads, housing, electrification, employment generation and skill development. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Ms. Saruta said the Ministry of Tribal Affairs is implementing various schemes and programmes for the welfare and development of the Scheduled Tribes in the country. She said, these include Pradhan Mantri Jan Jatiya Vikas Mission, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Pre-Matric and Post Matric Scholarship to ST students, National Overseas Scholarships for ST Candidates and National Fellowship for ST students.</span><br />
