Minister of State for Textiles Ajay Tamta yesterday inaugurated India Pavilion at Ambiente 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. It is one of the oldest established and well-known fairs for presentation of new products, new trends and new innovations. Textiles Secretary Anant Kumar Singh, Development Commissioner Handicrafts Shantmanu, Consul General of India Pratibha Parker were also present during inauguration.<br/><br/>Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, EPCH said, Germany is major market for Indian products and Ambiente is an important marketing medium for Indian companies world over. The fair attracts around 1,50,000 trade visitors. Majority of the items displayed at the fair are houseware, decorative, home furnishing, fashion accessories, Christmas decoration and wooden handicrafts.<br/><br/>More than 4,500 exhibitors from 94 countries are participating this year and India is the 3rd largest participating country with 445 Indian exporters displaying handicrafts, furniture home furnishing & textiles, Christmas, Gifts & Decorative and home d'cor. Live demonstration by five master craftpersons showing their skills of marble inlay, paper machie, jamaver shalws, kundan meenakari and gold nakashi work is also being done at the show.
