<span style="color: #222222;">The Government has clarified that biometric attendance is not mandatory for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MG-NREGS) job card holders.<br />''<br />'' In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said that there is no such provision as biometric attendance for MGNREGA workers. In another written reply to a question, she said that the Ministry has asked States and Union Territories to ensure attendance of the Mahatma Gandhi NREGS workers through the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS) App.</span><br />
