Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) Prof. (Dr.) Ram Shankar Katheria today laid emphasis upon using technical education for society and nation building by the students. During his one-day Tripura visit today, he inaugurated Golden Jubilee Knowledge Centre and SC/ST cell at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) of Agartala.<br/><br/>Inaugurating the newly-constructed Golden Jubilee Knowledge Centre the Union Minister said that the campus needs to be technologically updated to provide education in a faster way as internet is the medium of success for today's generation. He urged to be technologically updated for qualitative and advanced education. Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes in development of the Northeast for all-round development of the country, Mr. Katheria informed.<br/><br/>Director of NIT, Agartala Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Advisor of Assam Central University Prof. Nityananda Pandey among others were present in the function. The Union Minister later, in a separate programme, inaugurated the Academic Building of Tripura Central University at Suryamaninagar in Agartala.
