The Union Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Bhagwat Karad said, with the visionary direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jal Jeevan Mission is being carried out in all rural areas across the country. The Jal Jeevan Mission is aimed at ensuring that everyone has access to clean drinking water.<br />'' <br />'' Dr Karad, who is on a tour to the aspirational district Mamit of Mizoram, today chaired a review meeting with the officials in the district headquarters. In the meeting, he said, with the proper implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, the people of the Mamit district will have access to potable water at their homes. The Minister said, each of the 39 health sub-centers in the aspirational district will have a new labour room. &nbsp;<br />'' <br />''Dr Karad also assured the meeting to set up a science and commerce college in the district. He informed, at least one bank branch will be set up in every rural development block of the district. Later, Dr. Karad had a courtesy meeting with Chief Minister Zoramthanga at Lengpui airport near Aizawl and discussed improving the public healthcare system. They also discussed the vital issues and potential of the State's economy for development.
