MoS for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare says ICAR developed variety of millet which has increased shelf life

<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of state for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary today said the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has developed a variety of millet which has increased shelf life.<br />''<br />''Replying a question in Lok Sabha Mr Choudhary informed that presently the flour of millet has 10 to 15 days of shelf life but after the introduction of new variety it will increase to 6 months. He said the government has taken several steps to promote the farming of coarse cereals.<br />''<br />''The minister said to promote farming of coarse cereals 6 varieties of bio fortified and 10 nutritious varieties have been developed which will adequately benefit millet-producing farmers.</span><br />
