Murugan has said that the government proposes to further expand the area under seaweed cultivation in Lakshadweep islands. He said, the Centre is exploring more seashores and islands where seaweed cultivation can be taken up. Dr. Murugan was speaking to the media after visiting a seaweed site at Kavaratti island today.<br />''<br />''Noting that seaweed is going to play a major role in the days ahead, he observed that it has immense potential to provide employment and economic empowerment to women and fishermen.
