The mortuary workers, street vendors, Anganwadi workers and Mudra Scheme loanees have been invited as special guests for the Independence Day celebration this year. Briefing media in New Delhi today, Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar  said the NCC cadets from districts across the country dressed in their local attire will be seated in front of Red Fort in the formation of map of India to showcase the cultural diversity of the country. He added that an indigenously designed gun for the ceremonial gun salute will be used during the 75th Independence Day celebrations this year. Mr. Kumar also said that an online invitation portal has been started this year.
