The mortal remains of former Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader W.R. Varadarajan. were consigned to flames at the Kannamapettai crematorium in Chennai this evening. <br/><br/>Earlier today his body was taken from the mortuary and placed at the party headquarters in T Nagar for the public to pay homage. Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin, Mayor M Subramaniam and leaders from various political parties paid their respects to the departed leader.<br/><br/>Sixty four year old Varadarajan was a trade union leader and legislator. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly in 1989 from Villivakkam constituency.
