The mortal remains of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu have arrived in Itanagar in an IAF helicopter this afternoon. After retrieval of all five bodies from the crash site near Lugutang in Tawang this morning, the late Chief Minister’s body was brought to Itanagar while the four remaining bodies have been kept at Tawang for autopsy. On arrival, Governor JJ Singh paid homage to Dorjee Khandu at the helipad. The wreckage of Dorjee Khandu’s missing chopper along with the bodies were located on Wednesday morning after an intense search for four days. Meanwhile, The Arunachal Pradesh government has announced seven days state mourning beginning today as a mark of respect to Dorjee Khandu. A state holiday has also been declared today. The State Government said funeral with full state honours will be accorded to the late Chief Minister. The body will be kept at the Chief Minister’s Bungalow today and will be flown to Khandu’s hometown Tawang on Friday.
