The mortal remains of India's first National Security Advisor and Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Brajesh Mishra, were today consigned to flames in New Delhi this morning. He passed away last Friday.
The Vice President of India, serving and retired members of the Indian Foreign Service fraternity, members of the diplomatic corps, friends and his many colleagues from various walks of life bid a final farewell to the veteran diplomat.
A Memorial Meeting is being organized by his family on Saturday evening at the Chinmaya Mission at Lodhi Road.
A career diplomat, Mishra was Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee before he was appointed NSA. He had earlier retired as Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry after having served as India's Permanent representative to the UN.
