Commerce and Industry Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman said that inflation is a challenge for the government and there is need to do more work to control it . She said the government is committed to do every thing to augment the supply of essential commodities in the market. On slow down in industrial production, she said, steps are being taken and there is some indication of the revival of economy after the manufacturing and auto industry have shown some recovery and that will make the economy more vibrant. Talking to AIR after addressing the concluding session of Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax in New Delhi, she said that collecting tax revenues targeted in the budget is a big challenge. However the government is committed and a large team is working at national level to achieve it.
