Government has said that more than two Lakh tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa during January to September this year, showing an increase of around 945 per cent over the same period last year. Ministry of Tourism, in a press release said, highest number of tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa from USA during this period.It said, during the month of September this year, a total of around 32 thousand tourist arrived on e-Tourist Visa, registering a growth of around 1362 per cent as compared to last year.Government had launched e-Tourist Visa scheme on 27th November last year. At present e-Tourist Visa facility is available for citizens of 113 countries.
