More than 56 lakh people recovered from COVID-19, highest in world

<span style="color: #222222;">The number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the country is now more than 56 lakh and it is the highest in the world. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, the recovery rate is more than 84 per cent. He said, new recoveries have been more than new COVID-19 cases in recent days. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Bhushan said, active cases are below 10 lakhs for last two weeks. He said, average daily COVID-19 positivity rate too has been coming down. It was 9.21 per cent during 16th to 22nd September and it has come down to 6.82 per cent from September 30 to October 6. The Union Health Secretary said, 10 states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh account for 77 per cent of the active cases in the country. He said, almost 1 in 2 of total COVID19 deaths in the country are concentrated in 25 districts of 8 states, out of which 15 districts are in Maharashtra alone. He added that Health Ministry is working with states to bring down COVID19 case fatality rate.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Bhushan said, more than 8 crore tests have been conducted and approximately 80 lakh tests were done in the last week. He said, the number of tests is second-highest in the world. </span><br />
