Ministry of Coal, along with its attached offices and PSUs observed the Swachhta Pakwada during the fortnight from 16th of August to 31st August 2017. <br/><br/>According to an official release, during the fortnight, large scale tree plantation program was conducted with a provision for maintenance and watering of plants for one year. <br/><br/>More than 5 lakh samplings were planted during the period. Besides, a plant for production of drinking water under the brand name "Coal Neer" and a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Purification project at Patansawangi underground coal mine were installed. <br/><br/>This plant has a capacity to treat 10 thousand litres of water per hour. Electrical crematorium was also constructed on the Ghat of Mahanadi River.Truck mounted compactor machine was provided to the Sambalpur municipal corporation for collection and compaction of the garbage. <br/><br/>In villages, cleaning of water bodies, wells, overhead tanks, streets and roads was taken up. The Ministry has also uploaded the details of activities, photos and videos along with geo-tagging on the 'Swachta Samiksha' Portal of the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
