The National Disaster Response Force, NDRF has rescued 2863 persons and evacuated 66724 persons and 233 livestock so far in worst flood affected areas of Assam, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. <br/><br/>The disaster response force also provided medical assistance to 5669 persons during this monsoon season. A NDRF press note issued in New Delhi said, the NDRF personnel are relentlessly engaged in rescuing the people in close coordination with other agencies in the affected areas. <br/><br/>In Bihar 28 flood rescue teams of NDRF have been rendering humanitarian services in the marooned areas of Bihar with the help of 112 boats and other lifesaving equipment where flood situation continue to worsen. In Uttar Pradesh, 23 flood rescue teams equipped with 69 boats are continuously engaged in rescue and relief operations in flood affected areas of Baharaich, Gorakhpur, Shrawasti, Sidharthnagar, Maharajganj and Balrampur districts. <br/><br/>In Assam, the flood situation is improving and NDRF teams are carrying out rescue and relief work to bring normalcy in the State. In West Bengal, 19 teams are operational in worst flood affected areas of South Dinajpur, North Dinajpur and Malda districts. New Delhi based NDRF HQ is monitoring the situation closely and is in touch with other agencies and stakeholders.
