More than 2 lakhs Panchayats to be connected through broadband

Over 250,000 Panchayats in the country will soon be connected with broadband connections to ensure better banking facilities. This was disclosed by advisor to Prime Minister on public information Sam Pitroda in New Delhi. Addressing a seminar on financial inclusion he said mobile banking is the next big challenge for government and it will change the nature of banking in India. He asserted that financial inclusion cannot be achieved without inclusive growth and every initiative should be directed at the rural poor. He urged all the stake holders to come together for developing a platform for mobile banking.
