More than 19 lakh LPG connections under PMUJ in Gujarat

<span style="color: #222222;">In Gujarat, more than 19 lakh LPG connections have been given under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUJ) which provides free of cost LPG gas connection to poor woman.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This was announced by SS Lamba, Executive Director of Indian Oil and State Level Coordinator of the Scheme in Gujarat. Addressing the press conference at Ahmedabad, Mr Lamba said that 87 percent of Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries in the State have comeback to refill LPG cylinder after release of connection and the average per capita consumption is 4.13 cylinders per year.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that this is impressive in comparison to the national average, which is around 80 percent.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Lamba said that we are getting good response to the new expanded scheme, in which the scope of PMUY has extended to 7 new categories.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Recently, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by the Prime Minister, has taken a decision to release deposit free LPG connections to the women of poor families, who were not considered earlier under the scheme.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that during the current year, Oil marketing companies have conducted more than 1860 LPG Panchayats in Gujarat.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Oil Marketing Companies have introduced 5 Kilogram refill option to the Ujjwala Yojana  beneficiaries, in which they can swap her 14.2 Kilo gram cylinder with 5 Kilogram refill and vice versa.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a revolution, which provides smokeless and clean cooking fuel  to the poor women.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">This helped in improving the health of poor families and also save the time in preparing foods and other things.   </span><br />'' <br />
