Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal today said during the current sugar season of 2021-22 it is expected that more than 18,000 crore rupees of revenue would be generated by production of ethanol.<br />'' <br />'' Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Goyal said production of ethanol is ensuring revenue generation and timely payment of cane due of farmers.<br />'' <br />'' Mr. Goyal said in the last three Ethanol Supply Years (ESY) from 2018-19 to 2020-21 a revenue of 29,500 crore rupees has been generated by sugar mills and distilleries from the sale of ethanol to Oil Marketing Companies (OMC).<br />'' <br />'' He also said the limit of blending of ethanol in petrol will be enhanced to 20 percent and this will reduce the import of crude petroleum.<br />''
