More than 18 point 20 lakh marine farmers and fishermen have been issued bio-metric cards so far in the country. This was stated by Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sudarshan Bhagat in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. <br/><br/>He said besides, the coastal state governments and union territories, a consortium of central public sector undertaking, led by Bharat Electronic Cell, have been involved in issuance of bio-metric cards to marine fishers.
