More than 160 Haj pilgrims from Indonesia have so far died due to various illnesses while performing duties in the holy city of Mecca this year. According to an official at the Indonesian Hajj organizer office, the deaths were related to heart attack, respiratory failure, liver failure, hypertension. The Indonesian government has imposed tight health screening for the pilgrims before they leave to Saudi Arabia following extreme weather there. More than 200,000 pilgrims from Indonesia undertook Haj this year.
