More than 1200 Blueline buses will be phased out from Delhi by next Friday

In the wake of the Delhi Government's decision to phase out all Blueline buses by the end of next month, out of the 2052 buses, more than 1200 buses will be phased out from the city roads in the national capital by Friday. The decision to this effect was taken in view of the accidents caused by such buses. Delhi Transport Minister, Arvinder Singh Lovely said that safety of the commuters is the priority of the government. He said that Government has also decided to introduce at least 50 low floor buses under its new cluster system on 32 routes in the national capital by the end of next month. Mr Lovely said that these new low-floor buses will be introduced as part of the first cluster of low floor buses after the Delhi government approved five such clusters on different routes. He said that the remaining clusters will also be introduced in March next year. The minister also informed that the buses will be equipped with Global Position System, Automatic Fare Collection System and other safety measures. He said that this will help meet the requirements of transport services in the city after complete phase out of Blue Line buses.
