More than 100 educated youth from Jammu and Kashmir were employed in the corporate sector and 100 more are in the process of getting jobs across India under a centrally-sponsored special industry initiative called 'Udaan'.The scheme, launched last year by the then Home Minister P Chidambaram, aimed at providing employment oriented training for about 8000 youth from Jammu and Kashmir over five years covering various sectors like business management, software and BPOs and facilitating jobs for them. An expert group constituted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh under the chairmanship of C Rangarajan to formulate a job plan for Jammu and Kashmir had recommended the scheme.About eight corporates had entered into an agreement with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for providing employment oriented training for 8000 youth.
