<span style="color: #222222;">The government has said that out of over 19 crore rural households in the country, more than ten crores 75 lakh households have tap water supply in their homes. <br />''<br />''Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Prahlad Singh Patel said this in a written reply in Lok Sabha today. He said, Union government is implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission in partnership with States and Union Territories since August 2019, to make provision for potable tap water supply to every rural household in the country by 2024. Mr Patel said, at the time of the announcement of Jal Jeevan Mission, only three crore 23 lakh households were reported to have tap water connections. The Minister said, around seven crore 52 lakh additional rural households have been provided with tap water connections.</span><br />
