More rain predicted in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, the low pressure area from Comorin area has moved westwards and lay centred near Lakshadweep islands, according to Chennai Met department. The Met office has predicted more rains in south Tamil Nadu.AIR correspondent reports, heavy rain has thrown normal life out of gear in the hilly regions of Tamil Nadu. There were landslides in five places including Coonoor-Mettupalyam, Ooty-Manjur and Ooty-Edacad roads. Now all the obstacles have been removed and the roads have been thrown open for traffic. There was a landslide at Wellington in the Nilgiri Mountain Railway between Ooty and Coonoor. In the Nilgiris district Coonoor recorded the maximum rainfall of 180 millimetres. Holiday has been declared tomorrow for all schools in six taluks including Udhagamandalam, Coonoor and Kothagiri. The inflow into the Bhavani Sagar dam in Erode and Vaigai dam in Theni district is increasing to the delight of the farmers.
