More efforts required to meet growing demands in power sector: President

President Ram Nath Kovind today said though India has become a power surplus nation in the last three years, more efforts are needed to meet growing demands in future. <br/><br/>Presenting National Energy Conservation awards in New Delhi, Mr Kovind said the government is committed to provide 24×7 electricity to the people. <br/><br/>He said the availability of energy and its efficient use is crucial for country's economic progress and development. <br/><br/>President said the government is making all efforts to provide electricity in the rural areas of the country. <br/><br/>Mr Kovind emphasised that availability of electricity plays a crucial role in empowering the downtrodden.
