Month-long Kolkata Flower Fair begins today

The seventh Kolkata Flower Fair, which will go on till the first of next month, began today. The West Bengal Minister of State for Forest Mr. Rabindranath Hembram inaugurated it in the Eden Gardens. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion the State Minister of Forest Mr. Anand Roy said, there is a lot of scope for making candles, colours and incense and perfumes, in the State. He said, for the last one year the State Government has been taking initiatives to hold such fairs. <br/><br/>This year has special drive has been taken to train the youth in horticulture, the Minister said. Besides this, regular cultural and different competitions for small children have been arranged in the fair.
