Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia has said that the prevailing high inflation is likely to ease in near future following the steps taken by the Government and on the back of falling commodity prices. Speaking at a function in Vadodra on Friday, he said that the growth rate of the country will be brought to 9 to 10 per cent in next 12th five year plan. He said that steps are being taken to contain inflation and food inflation has started falling within two months prices of various commodities including wheat and rice would fall further. Hailing Gujarat for overall development in the field of energy and electricity distribution and industrial development he said that the other states should following the Gujarat in this sector. He advocated for integrated water policy in the country for the equal water distribution.
