Monsoon to hit south Gujarat, some parts of MP & East UP during next 48 hrs

The southwest monsoon has covered almost half of the country, including the drought-hit Marathwada. MeT department said the drought hit Marathwada and parts of Vidarbha too have been receiving rains over the past two-three days. Conditions are favourable for South West Monsoon in south Gujarat, some parts of Madhya Pradesh and East Uttar Pradesh during next 48 hours. <br/><br/>It has forecast heavy to very heavy rain at a few places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. Heavy rain is also likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Monsoon is likely to reach the national capital by last week of this month or early July. The weatherman has forecast an above normal monsoon this year.<br/><br/>In Uttarakhand, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into most parts of State today. As a result, rain has been experienced in Dehrdaun, Udhamsinghnagar, Pauri, Nainital, Almora and Bageshwar districts since morning. However sky remains overcast in most parts of the districts. Meanwhile weather department has predicted heavy rains likely to occur at isolated place of Dehradun, Haridwar, Pithoragarh , Nainital, Udhamsingh Nagar and Pauri district in the next 48 hours.
