Monsoon session of Maharashtra State Legislature begins

<br/>The monsoon session of the Maharashtra state legislature began in Mumbai today. On the first day itself, question hour session was adjourned on the issue of American Author James Laine’s controversial book on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.<br/><br/>Aggressive opposition leaders raised the issue of the apex court's decision allowing sale of American author James Laine's controversial book on Chhatrapati Shivaji, at the beginning of the question hour and demanded adjournment and discussion on this issue. <br/><br/>Reacting to this, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan said that the ruling government is ready to hold discussion as the issue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not only a question of state’s pride but also of the country. <br/><br/>Opposition Leader Eknath Khadse blamed the state government for its inability to present its side in the Supreme Court on this issue. After this, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dilip Walse Patil adjourned the question hour and called all the leaders in his chamber for discussion.
