The week-long monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly begins today in Shimla. There will be five sittings during the session till 23rd august. During the session, the opposition Congress is expected to attack the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state on issues like the recent hike in the fares of public transport buses, the increase in value-added tax on consumer goods, the allegedly deteriorating law and order and the invitation to private universities to set up institutes in the state. The bad condition of roads in the state especially in apple belt will also be the key issue which will be raised by Congress to corner the ruling government. On the other hand, the government will attack the Congress on the issue of inflation by targeting the central govt.
