Monsoon revived in worst-hit central India, southern peninsula regions: MeT dept

Monsoon has revived in the worst-hit central India and southern peninsula regions. Director General, MeT department, LS Rathore said that revival in rains augur well for kharif crops and would also help narrow rainfall deficit in September.<br/><br/>According to the MeT department data, monsoon deficit has been estimated to be at 12 per cent so far this season.<br/><br/>However, the rain deficit in the southern peninsula was 22 per cent and in central India was 16 per cent.<br/><br/>Mr Rathore said that more rains are likely in the region as pressure is building in the Bay of Bengal and moving into inland by 15th of this month.
