Progress of southwest monsoon has been satisfactory and the country has so far received rain nine per cent above normal. Met Department Director General Ajit Tyagi told AIR that monsoon will further intensify over central India during the coming week. In Delhi, rain received this month was more than what the region got in the whole of June in the last three years. Weathermen predicted rain and thundershowers along with thunder squall in some areas of Delhi tomorrow. Rain and thunder shower are likely at many places over Odisha during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, deep depression formed over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand is likely to move west-north-westwards and weaken gradually.
