Monsoon likely to delay by a week in Delhi, UP and other N-India

The onset of Monsoon over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other parts of Northern India is likely to be delayed by a week. Director, Department of Meteorology, R. C. Vashist told AIR that the monsoon flow had once again become weak and consequently the low pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is fizzling out. He, however, said there is no need to worry as there are signals that monsoon could revive in next two to four days. Weatherman has predicted possibility of heavy rain fall over Kerala, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during next 48 hours. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile, Delhi continued to reel in hot and humid conditions with the temperature 40.6 degrees Celsius four degrees above normal. The minimum temperature recorded was 29.2 degrees Celsius. <br/>
