The monsoon has intensified over most parts of the country with heavy rains lashing north India. Monsoon has been rigorous in Uttar Pradesh and active in Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand according to the Met Department. Fairly widespread rainfall has occurred in Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerela. Light to moderate rainfall also occurred in Haryana, Punjab and the National capital. The weatherman predicts isolated heavy rainfall to occur over Punjab, Haryana, west UP, east Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 48 hours. Fairly widespread rain and thundershowers might also occur over most parts of central and east India.
