The much-awaited monsoon hit Odisha today bringing rain to parts of its south coastal districts. According to Director of Bhubaneswar Meterological office Sarat Chandra Sahu, conditions are favourable for further advancement of the south-west monsoon into remaining parts of Odisha during the next three days. A good monsoon is crucial for Odisha, which contributes almost one-tenth of country’s rice production of about 90 million tonnes.
