Monsoon hits Andhra, Bengal, Odisha and Mumbai

In Andhra Pradesh, the south-west monsoon covered the entire state by Sunday evening. The met officials said it has caused widespread rain in the three regions of the state for the first time during this season so far. Several places in the state received the rainfall from ten to five centimetres.

Hyderabad has the season’s first spell of heavy rain Sunday evening while other places including Nalgonda, Medak in Telangana Region and Muchilipatnam and Gudivada in Coastal area received considerable amount of rainfall. According to met officials, more rain is likely in next few days.

This has reduced fears of a drought in the southern districts of the state that have been hit by severe heatwave conditions over the past few weeks.
