Monsoon arrives in Maharashtra

Monsoon arrived in Maharashtra yesterday, June 11. Regional Meteorological Center, Mumbai has informed that a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thundershower in Mumbai city and suburbs is expected today. Occasional strong winds reaching to 45-55 kmph are also predicted. Passengers at Mumbai Airport are facing some issues due to delayed or cancelled flights.<br />''  <br />''Air India has claimed that Inclement weather conditions and the temporary closure of a Runway at the Mumbai airport, in addition to other consequential factors, have resulted in delays and cancellation of some of their flights. Mumbai Airport's spokesperson has claimed that the issue persists with Air India only and not with other airlines. Airport Operations and Runway is working smoothly.

Monsoon arrives in Maharashtra

The monsoon has reached Maharashtra. Most regions of Marathwada and some regions of Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Vidarbha have experienced rain. Pune, Latur, Amravati and Nashik districts have also experienced showers. Many regions of Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada, while a few regions of Vidarbha may continue experiencing rains. Met Department said, conditions are favourable for the southwest monsoon to reach Mumbai soon.Heavy rain and lightning left five persons dead and one seriously injured in two separate incidents in Ahmednagar district. Police said, three persons were killed last night when their car drowned in flooded water of Padali river at Wadzire village. Two persons were killed and one seriously injured when lightning struck them while they had taken shelter under a tree amid heavy rainfall at Sonai village. The seriously injured person was admitted in a government hospital.
