Monsoon arrives in Gujarat's Saurashtra region and M’rashtra

In Gujarat, official monsoon has reached to the South, Central and Saurashtra region of the state.<br/><br/>Quoting official sources, AIR Bhuj correspondent reports that 25 mm to 100 mm rain were recorded at Gondal, Amreli, Bhavnagar and other parts of Saurashtra this evening.<br/><br/>Rain with thunder storm have also recorded in coastal areas of<br/>Saurashtra.<br/><br/>In most parts of western Maharashatra, monsoon rainfall has crossed the June month’s average. Heavy thundershowers have reported in Sindhudurg and Kokan region.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that advancement of southwest monsoon has brought relief in most parts of the western Maharashatra. In Pune, light showers occurred throughout the day bringing typical monsoon weather. <br/><br/>In Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur the rains have made the farmers happy. However, in Konkan region heavy rains have disrupted the normal life.<br/><br/>AIR Sindhudurg correspondent reports that one man has drowned and many houses have collapsed. The district administration is all set to handle any eventuality. Flood monitoring has been done constantly in various districts. The catchments areas of various dams in western Maharashatra have received good rains.
