<br/>The south west monsoon has advanced into parts of Gujarat, Saurashtra regions, Chattisgarh and southern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Weatherman says conditions are favourable for further advancement of the monsoon in remaining parts of West Bengal and Orissa and some parts of Jharkhand and Bihar during next 48 hours. <br/> <br/>The met department has warned that winds with a speed of upto 60 kilometer per hour could sweep through the Saurastra region. <br/> <br/>Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka might witness heavy rainfall.<br/> <br/>The weather men predict fairly widespread rain to occur over Kerela, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and West Bengal.Scattered rain and thunder showers are also expected over Jammu and Kashmir. <br/> <br/>The Monsoon is yet to set in Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand where the temperatures remained above the normal.<br/> <br/>Hot weather conditions also prevailed in the northern region of the country with the mercry hovering around the 40 degree mark in most parts. Dholpur in Rajasthan recorded the maximum temperature of 43.8 degrees on Wednesday.<br/> <br/>In Himachal Pradesh, the weather remained dry in most places with Una being the hottest at 37.8 degrees. <br/> <br/>In the national capital the mercury touched the maximum of 39.5 degrees on Wednesday and is expected to be around 41 degrees on Thursday. The MET department predicts partly cloudy sky over the capital towards the afternoon.<br/>
