Pre-monsoon activity has picked up across Madhya Pradesh. AIR Bhopal correspondent reports that the monsoon rains are likely to strike western parts of the state in another two day’s time.<br/><br/>The pre- monsoon activity has caused the weather to change considerably in the state. Temperatures have dipped drastically as cloud cover spanning the skies in most parts. Heavy rains struck capital Bhopal last evening.<br/><br/>In other places too thunderstorm and rains were recorded. Betul, Panchmarhi, Gwalior , Datia, Mandla, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Guna and some other places received considerable rainfall during the last 24 hours.<br/><br/>The Met office has issued warning of thunder squall and dust storms striking some parts of Gwalior , Chambal, Ujjain , Bhopal , Hoshangabad and Indore divisions during the next 24 hours.<br/><br/>Wide-spread rains lashed many parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra during the last 24 hours as people experienced relief from scorching heat.<br/><br/>Quoting official sources, AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that Surat, Navasari, Valsad, Amreli, Junagadh and Rajkot districts have received up to 100 mili meters rain. The local weather office predicted that south west monsoon is likely to activate in Gujarat during next 24 hours.<br/><br/>The National Capital is expected to witness thundershowers accompanied by squall in some areas towards Wednesday evening. This may bring down the temperature that registered a high of 40.6 degrees yesterday. According to the Met Department, sky over the Capital will remain partly cloudy in the day with the mercury set to hover around the 40 degree mark.<br/><br/>In Kerala, intensity of south west monsoon rainfall is likely to come down from Wednesday. According to Thiruvanathapuram met department isolated heavy rain is likely to occur in Kerala and a few places in Lakshadweep during the next two days.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, more number of deaths due to H1 N1 fever has been reported from different parts of the state. A three member central team is reaching Kerala on Wednesday to assess the situation.
