Monsoon activity has intensified over West Bengal, Sikkim, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. Widespread rain occured in these regions on Monday. According to the MET office, the south west monsoon has subdued over Rajasthan, Madhya Maharastra and interior Karnataka.<br/><br/>Heavy rains lashed many parts of north India including the national capital. AIR correspondent reports that the rain gauges measured 51.4 mm of rainfall in the city.
