Monsoon active in UP ; Delhi experiences pre-monsoon showers

The monsoon has become fully active in Uttar Pradesh. Light to medium rainfall has occurred in the eastern, central and some parts of Bundelkhand region in the state, during past 24 hours. Our Gorakhpur Correspondent quoting Met office, reports that there is a dense cloud over eastern UP and adjoining areas. Farmers are now engaged in farming activities in the state.

Our correspondent reports that the rain has covered almost entire state barring a few western districts. The rain has occurred in Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra, Hamirpur, Allahabad, Varanasi and Gorakhpur in past 24 hours. The weather has become pleasant as the temperature has gone up to 3 degrees below normal.

The rain caused difficulty to the school going children this morning but the farmers are a happier lot as they have started sowing Kharif crops. Met office has predicted further advancement of monsoon during next 24 hours.

Delhiites today got much needed respite from the hot and humid weather condition as the light showers lashed various parts of the national capital this morning. The Met department said, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.1 degree Celsius while the minimum settled at 29.1 degree Celsius yesterday. The weatherman has predicted for generally clouded sky for the day with possibility of light rain in the national capital region.
