The Chief Electoral Officer said that civil society will be involved to report on such practices violating the Model Code of Conduct that has come into being on Wednesday. Speaking about the ways to reduce urban voters' apathy, Mr Meena said that first-time voters are encouraged to vote, and household visits are being planned in the booths where the voters' turnout was least in the 2018 assembly election. The celebrities will be appealing to the voters to vote and a mobile app will be introduced that will tell them about the parking space around their booth and the queue status in their respective booths. He informed that 2,79,752 polling personnel will be deputed to ensure free and fair elections in the State.
