Union Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi has alleged that profits made through trade of slaughtered animals go into terrorism.

Addressing India for Animals Conference 2014 at Jaipur, Mrs. Gandhi said, India has emerged as largest beef exporter in the world and animals are being smuggled to Bangladesh and West Asia.

She said, pro-active approach should be adopted to save animals. Mrs. Gandhi said, illegal meet export from India is increasing and organisations working for welfare of animals should come forward to check it.

Mrs. Gandhi said that new generation should come forward to spread awareness about protection of both wild animals and pets.
