It was the year when Indians were taking over coveted leadership roles in the global forum.<br />”<br />”Parag Agrawal became the newest member in a growing club of Indians holding the top-most posts at global tech companies when he was appointed as the CEO of the micro-blogging platform Twitter.<br />”<br />”The 37-year-old, an alumnus of IIT-Bombay, had joined Twitter in 2011 and worked his way up the ladder to becoming the Chief Technology Officer by 2018. He was reportedly one of the 'first choices' of the company's co-founder Jack Dorsey in the line of succession.<br />”<br />”In another proud moment for the country, Maharashtra-born Leena Nair joined the list of Indian CEOs of Multinational brands in December. Her appointment as the CEO of the luxury fashion house Chanel was unprecedented, given that Nair was an industry outsider from India and a longtime executive at Unilever.<br />”<br />”The 52-year-old was also Unilever's first female and youngest Chief Human Resources Officer, a position she left to join the iconic luxury group.<br />”<br />”In the field of glamour, India's Harnaaz Sandhu made the nation proud by bagging the long yearned-for Miss Universe title at the 70th edition of the beauty pageant event in December.<br />”<br />”Harnaaz brought home the prestigious honour, 21 years after Lara Dutta won it in the year 2000. Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe 2021 in a glitzy ceremony held at the Red Sea port of Eilat by her predecessor Andrea Meza of Mexico.&nbsp;</span><br />
