Moily, Gehlot witness inking of MoU to set up HPCL refinery in Barmer

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, HPCL and Rajasthan government today signed an MoU to set up an Oil Refinery in Barmer. The MoU was signed in presence of Petroleum Minister Dr. Veerappa Moily and State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Jaipur today. 37 thousand 230 crore rupees will be invested on this product. The Project will be completed in 4 years and state government will provide 3736 Cr Rs every year to HPCL as special package along with land and water from Indira Gandhi Canal. More than one lakh people would get employment with the refinery.Dr Moily announced that HPCL will provide training and employment of family members of farmers whose land will be acquired for this project. He said that keeping in view of good quality of crude oil of Barmer a petro-chemical complex will also be established to produce various petro products.Dr Moily said that country will be self sufficient in oil production by 2030.
