The Union Minister of Corporate Affairs, Veerappa Moily today criticised the credit rating agency Standard and Poor for describing Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as an unelected leader. Speaking to media persons in Kochi today, the Union Minister said, the agency's observation is unfair and smacked of politics.
The Union Minister said, Dr Singh is an eminent economist and statesman and is leading the country well. Stating that the rating agency should go by economic criteria, Moily observed that the country has a strong economy and strong government.
He also said, there is no confusion within the Congress regarding the Presidential candidate and expressed hope that the CPI-M will support the candidate chosen by the Congress.
