In Football, Mohun Bagan has clinched the Federation Cup title for the 14th time. In the Final played at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati last evening, they defeated Aizawl FC, 5-0 to win the tournament after a gap of 8 years. The first half of the match was goalless, with Mohun Bagan displaying their experience and expertise in the second half. Mizo striker Jeje Lalpekhlua netted two goals while Haitian Sony Norde, Dhanachandra Singh and Bikramjit Singh scored one each.Aizawl FC had defeated I-League champions Bengaluru FC in the quarterfinals before getting the better of Sporting Clube de Goa to book a place in the Final for the first time.
